Programs and Projects in Mexico
 
  • Research Efforts:

    • Texas A&M-CONACYT: Collaborative Research Grant Program.
      This is an agreement in cooperation that addresses opportunities for bilateral research between Texas A&M and Mexican research institutions.

    • Faculty Abroad Seminar.
      To assist Texas A&M faculty and investigators establish research and teaching contacts in Mexico, the Mexico Center and the Office for Latin American Programs at Texas A&M created the Faculty Abroad Seminar to Mexico (FAS). The seminar is coordinated by the Office for Latin American Programs and the Mexico Center, in cooperation with the Office of the Dean of Faculties and the Office of the Vice President for Research. This seminar is jointly funded by the Office of the Provost and each participant’s department and/or college. With 14 years in existence, this week long networking trip has hosted more than 150 Texas A&M faculty members and continues to promote fruitful collaboration between Mexican and Texas A&M investigators. Such partnerships often then apply for funds from the Texas A&M-CONACYT: Collaborative Research Grant Program.

    • Digitalization of Historical Materials Program.
      This program supports the Department of Hispanic Studies’ agreement with the Royal Academy of Spain by digitizing historical documents.

  • Programs and Outreach Efforts:

    • Food Safety Program.
      The Food Safety Program offered at the Texas A&M University Center in Mexico is administered by the Texas A&M Center for Food Safety. The main objective of the program is to promote education, research, and training in food safety issues to all of Latin America while acting as a neutral institution that advocates the harmonious commerce of food trade between nations. The program provides Prerequisites, Basic, and Advanced HACCP courses in Mexico

    • Agreement with the Texas A&M University Global Manufacturing and Distribution Research Initiative.


    • Mexico Internship Program

    • Support the implementation and management of Richard Ewing Scholarship Fund.



  • Academic Efforts:

    • Works with the University Advisory Committee developing academic programs in Mexico.

    • Currently serves its educational purpose through various internship and study abroad programs implemented in conjunction with Texas A&M departments and entities.

    • Works with the Office of Graduate Studies to assist with graduate recruitment efforts in Mexico.
