  • Programs and Outreach Efforts:

    • To promote the understanding of strategic issues important to the U.S. and Latin America relationship to improve the quality of life of citizens around the globe while effectively marketing and positioning Texas A&M University in Latin America.

      • Aggie Network: International Aggies promote the University in their countries, provide internships for students, logistical support for A&M activities in the region and facilitate access to government and private sector representatives. Some of the programs developed were the Aggie Summit held in El Salvador in February of 2006; several Aggie Reunions in Argentina, Brazil, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Panama; and the organization of visits of prominent Aggies to Texas A&M such as the president of Panama, the director of the Panama Canal, among others.

      • Central America Information Trips: Included undergraduate and graduate student recruitment sessions and meetings with US Embassy and local governmental agencies.

      • Latin American Session on A&M’s iTunes U website: Position the Texas A&M brand in Latin America.

      • Marketing material tailored to Latin America: Prepare brochures and press releases on strategic issues and distributed to relevant media.
