biofuels and the topic of ethanol production from sweet sorghum. The meetings were successful in establishing collaborations between A&M and the delegation to focus on the following areas: analysis of a variety of sorghum to determine which type is the best one; establishment of a type of sugarcane that is suitable for a cooler environment and uses less water; analysis of misalco or the use of garbage and byproducts for energy; and the creation a winter nursery to improve overall crop production. Additionally, the delegation also traveled to Houston where they met with business leaders from the Greater Houston Partnership and local Houston area businesses.
