The Mexican National Council for Science and Technology (CONACYT) is a public institution, dedicated to promoting and fostering science and technology development in Mexico. CONACYT supports quality scientific research, stimulates the linkage of productive processes and academia, and promotes the formation of high quality human resources.

Through CONACYT, it is possible to obtain funding support to pursue master and doctoral level degrees at renowned national and international universities.

Texas A&M University and CONACYT signed a five-year agreement of cooperation in higher education and research in April 2001. The agreement calls for significant international cooperation in research and graduate student training and in providing seed money for educational programs and collaborative research between Texas A&M University and Mexican higher education institutions and CONACYT research centers.
